September 2018 – What a month it will be!

It’s September!  Which means, another goal setting post!  The beginning of each month truly has to be my favorite time.  I love goal setting and I love writing about it! August truly got away from me.  Between listing my house, condo hunting, having surgery (and re-cooperating), and having a garage sale, I had one busy month.  And, this month won’t be much different, if not crazier!

My month ahead

So, on August 29th, which I thought was going to be a totally normal day, I got home to my realtor still there with a potential buyer.  I had met this potential buyer the week before as she randomly stopped by and wanted to look at my house. She said she had a real estate license, so I didn’t care.  They took a look around, as I tried to stay out of the way, and they seemed to like it. Well, second time through they were ready to make a CASH offer on my house.

WHAAAAA??????

So, after a little negotiating, we both accepted the offer that was in place and my house was sold!  WOW! So, I quickly turned around and made an offer on the condo that I wanted and by the end of the night, that was accepted!  In a matter of a few hours, I sold my house and was buying a condo. Now the fun begins.

This month, I have to select a contractor, purge my house (and have another garage sale), pack and move.  Along with all the events that I have scheduled this month. So, what was an already busy month is now turning into a super crazy month.

Enter my Bullet Journal

I love my bullet journal – especially now since I’m playing around with a digital journal on my iPad.  But, right now, I SUPER love it because it keeps me organized with to-do lists, things I need to write down to get out of my brain – but will need later, and of course, my goals.

I took time Saturday through Monday (um, hello Labor Day weekend!) to be present with my friends and not worry about my goals.  So, come Tuesday morning, I was right back at it, looking at my key priority assessment and personal inventory. Within a couple of hours, I was set for the month – at least for the moment.  Remember, the whole process is in my Ultimate Goal Setting Guide, so if you think it could be for you, click on the link to find out more!

A couple of hours?

Now, normally it does not take a couple of hours to go through my goal setting process.  Maybe a hour tops if you take your time to really reflect, analyze, and think. But, because I have a whole house to purge and added tasks for the house buying process, my brain dump took a bit longer and I wanted a more detailed schedule of tasks at hand.  Sometimes you have more things to do at the beginning of the month than others. I’m glad I had the time to take this long to plan my month out. I feel more prepared than ever to tackle ALL OF THE THINGS I want and need to do.

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet – if you want a detailed description of my goal setting process, you can take a look back at my previous month’s posts, or head on over to my Ultimate Goal Setting Guide.  I do provide some templates in the back of that guide to help you get started, but by no means is it the ONLY way to accomplish this process. My goal is to set you up with all the information you need on the PROCESS of goal setting, and you to adapt it to what works for you.  Remember, we are all so totally different.

I will continue to check back to my goals page and my brain dump to keep moving forward toward accomplishing my goals.  I hope you are doing the same, whether you use my process or another one!
