March 2018 Goals

Where has this year gone? I cannot believe we are starting March today! With a new month means it’s time to look back, reflect, and plan. Today, I revisit my February goals, why it’s important to set goals and plan, and what my new goals for March are.

I have been using my bullet journal exclusively since the beginning of the year. Setting up for a new month does take some time, but I honestly enjoy the process and it’s a bit of therapy for me. I like to be creative, but don’t always get a chance to do so. So, using my bullet journal gives me the outlet that I need to get creative with my lettering and colors.

It’s little, but it adds up quickly for me.

First, let’s review what i was working on in February. My main five goals were:

  1. Create an ebook to publish and sell on my blog to help others crush their goals.
  2. Increase my social media following by posting at least one time per day.
  3. “Go live” on IG and/or FB at least 4 times.
  4. Create a budget and revisit it weekly to pay off debt and save money.
  5. Lose 6 more pounds by eating a plant-based diet and continuing to moving/exercising every day.

I did start working on my e-book, and then (of course – and per usual) life got away from me, and that was pushed to the side. This goal will be in place for the month of March, and I will strive to get it completed for the beginning of April. My social media following on Instagram went crazy this month, and I’m so appreciative of all my new followers! (You too OGs! – love you all). I set a pretty high goal (for me) to hit by the end of the month, and I am proud to say that I am ONLY 3 people shy of meeting that goal. So pumped about this! So, of course, I will want to continue this goal for March, but with a new number.

Another goal I had for February was going Live 4 different times between Instagram and Facebook. I believe today was only my second time going live, so I will have to continue to work on that. I don’t know why, but going live on video is a scary thing for me, but I can post on Snapchat and IG Stories all day and not give it a thought. It’s weird, I know. Another goal was to create and stick to a budget to save some money and pay off some debt. Now, I don’t have a lot of debt, but the little bit that I do have I don’t feel good about. I did create a budget and a way of tracking all of my expenses/spending, but unfortunately it’s not one that really fits in with my lifestyle. So, I will have to come up with a new plan in order to cut down on some unneeded expenses and start to get my finances straight. (I think the ebook can help me with that too, if it gets traction.)

Last, but not least

The last goal I was working on was for my health. I wanted to lose some weight and eat mostly plants. That kind of did not happen. Some days were better than others, but overall, I may have lost 1 pound, but my diet is not where I want it to be. So, you know this will be a goal for me in March.

But why set goals? Why Plan?

I definitely get into this more in my ebook, but I just want to quickly explain why I think everyone should plan and set goals. If you don’t know what you want in life, then, you can’t come up with a plan to achieve it. That’s simply why goal setting is so important. Sure, some people can say they want to lose weight, or make more money, or move to a different neighborhood/city/state. But, those aren’t specific enough. Once it gets specific, a plan can be created that gets you from the starting point to achieving your goal. That’s where goal setting comes in.

Goal setting not only gives you direction, but also motivation and self-confidence to achieve your dreams. If you are like how I used to be, you are a hard worker but yet don’t seem to be getting anywhere in this world. Goal setting completely changed that for me, and I know it will for you as well. It allows you to set the destination. Where do you want to go in life? What do you want to accomplish? How will you feel when you accomplish it?

So, what are my March Goals?

These are basically going to be the same as February. In my bullet journal, I get more specific, but you don’t need to know those. So, my goals for this month are:

  1. Create an ebook to publish and sell on my blog to help others crush their goals.
  2. Continue to increase my social media following by posting at least one time per day.
  3. “Go live” on IG and/or FB at least 4 times.
  4. Create a budget to pay off debt, cut down on unneeded expenses, and save money.
  5. Lose 6 more pounds by eating a plant-based diet and continuing to moving/exercising every day.

So, there you have it. I truly hope you take the time to think about what you want in your life, and how to get there. A crucial part of this process is what I call a “Brain Dump.” Every single task that I can think of to help me reach *ALL* of my goals go into my Brain Dump. That way, each day, I can pick one or two tasks, break them down to smaller tasks (if needed) and start chipping away at them. I challenge you to try it, and see how it helps you!

As always, leave me some feedback either here, below this post, e-mail me (megs@thewheellifeblog.com), or on any of my social media platforms! (FB/IG/TW @wheellifeblog and Snapchat @megsh8). I would love to hear from you and what I can do to help.

Let’s Grow and Grind!
